Communication with columnist Leah Garchik
in response to noise in Mill Valley
Leah,
Nothing is louder then all the numerous construction going on. Large
earth moving and cement trucks from 7:30 AM on every work day.
For mega houses, but who notices? Everyone is gone to work to pay for it all.
It's a war zone on Lovell Ave!! No kidding! I think there are 16 major
projects going on. It's been like this on and off for 20 years. Loved
the dip in the economy: quiet. I go to the Book Depot to get away from
it all. Enjoy reading you. I live and work at home as a painter in
Mill Valley. Cheryl DeCinces Carter

Thanks much.... But I think you're lucky no one has complained about
that deafening swish your paint-loaded brush makes on the canvas....

Esalen 50th Anniversary Auction
This print is North Point e.v. 3/5 (42" by 30.5"). This is a one of a kind original xerox transfer monotype.
My inspiration for this piece came from last year at this time. I stayed in the North Point House for a very deep and meaningful personal retreat. From my watercolors and photographs, I returned to Smith Anderson Press in Palo Alto with master printer Kathryn Kain. I feel that it's only fitting to donate and return back to one of the most divine spots on the earth a source of its inspiration.
